Do This One Thing And Increase Your Results 10% to 30% Or More, With Less Stress!

Do you want to increase your results by 10% to 30% or more in the year 2021, and do it with MUCH less stress?

By doing this ONE THING in the next 30-45 days, I'll guarantee you that you will achieve this goal.

What is that one thing? It's planning! (And doing planning the right way.)

Planning versus reacting

We all share the experience of driving on a freeway at 70 miles per hour. Is your focus on the highway just ahead of your bumper? Or, are you looking down the highway prepared for potential dangers?

At 70 miles per hour, you're moving 103 FEET per SECOND! That's 34 YARDS! Per second! You can't react fast enough to anything that happens in front of your bumper. You're already TOO LATE!

Good planning helps you avoid hazards and threats, and accomplish your goal of getting home safely. Without this foresight, you're taking an enormous risk!

Treat your business the same way you do your driving on the freeway. PLAN AHEAD!

Here's what to do now...

Right now as you read this blog, do you have ON YOUR CALENDAR a "planning event?" (N.B. Most of the best companies have ALREADY done their planning for 2021.)

If you don't, it's not too late. Just make sure you schedule it NOW! Sit down, look at the next few weeks, and do the following:

#1—put a planning event on your calendar.

#2—determine how much time you'll need for planning. If you're a "one-man/woman army," I suggest a two-to-four hour event. If you're a team, I highly recommend a full day, OFF-SITE, and away from the day-to-day distractions. If you're a larger team, I suggest two-to-three days off-site.

#3—use a planning model. I've studied numerous methods currently used by world-class business planners from Kaplan and Norton's Balanced Scorecard, the Institute of Cultural Affairs International, Osterwalder and Pigneur's Business Model Generation, strategy guru Professor Gary Hamel, all the way to the massive planning of D-Day, June 6, 1944. A model better organizes your thinking.

#4—since planning is a critical action, GET HELP if you need it. This is not the time for your ego or lack of skill to speak. If you haven't led formal planning sessions before, consider getting assistance.

The benefits of planning

Here's what planning can do for you... (kudos to author Tim Hurson)

  • it gives you an opportunity to know what you'll need to succeed and to be able to adjust
  • it helps you with commitment - commitment equals clarity and buy-in (Lencioni)
  • it helps you visualize success and motivates!

So, get your calendar out and make it happen.
