Would you agree that the business environment of today is...

  • A ferocious fight for market share and mind share
  • More hazardous than ever before due to the speed of change
  • An emotional roller coaster with unprecedented pressures, and
  • Lonely at the top.

You want to be the very best leader possible and live up to your potential as a trailblazer. And, you're ready to receive support and assistance, and abandon doing everything on your own.

I’ve created a unique program to support that outcome.

The business environment in 2019 is much more hazardous than ever before. Cyber-threats, global competition, information overload, blackouts, and domestic and foreign terrorism concerns makes it seem like you need night-vision goggles and precision-guided weapons more than marketing plans and metrics[1].

You’re likely familiar with the ancient story of a small Greek army that defended the “Hot Gates” from an attack by a much larger, invading Persian army. It was the historic Battle of Thermopylae in southern Greece in 480 BCE, a multi-day engagement led by Spartan King Leonidas that gave the rest of Greece time to respond and eventually defeat the threat.

Ancient writers, as well as modern ones, have used the Battle of Thermopylae (Gr: thermo = hot; pylae = gates) as an example of the power of a patriotic army defending its native soil. The Greeks who fought there, though vastly outnumbered by Xerxes I’s Persian army, used several force multipliers, and became a symbol of courage.

This is a powerful metaphor for what many of you experience as business leaders today. You’re facing overwhelming odds and great threats in the business domain, but doing so with courage. And your family, employees, suppliers and vendors, clients, and customers all depend on you and your leadership. Your unspoken or spoken promise to them is that you will do your very best to lead, no matter what.

“Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory.”

-George S. Patton
General, Commanding, 3rd Army

To help you in that endeavor, I’ve created a select community of business leaders called “The 300.” We will join together in advanced leadership training opportunities and I invite you to learn more below and become a member. I believe you’ll be impressed by the formidable value of this uniquely compelling and powerful program.

III. Your Leadership Profile — An Assessment

Each Charter Member will receive a world-class leadership profile assessing your performance strengths and vulnerabilities. You’ll see graphically how you stack up against the best leaders in business today.

For example, how does your leadership profile stack up to the top Fortune 500 business executive in these areas:

  • Your ability to take charge and be in control
  • Your level of confidence and ability to accept criticism
  • Your ability to cooperate versus compete
  • Your ability to make decisions (too) quickly
  • Your desire to hog the spotlight or avoid it when a group needs a spark
  • Your ability to set boundaries, hold others accountable, or to say no
  • Your ability to focus your concentration over the long-term
  • Your ability to perform at the highest levels, even when the pressure’s on.

In addition, you’ll learn about the three most common mistakes made in business today:

  • Distraction mistakes
  • Overload mistakes
  • Emotional mistakes

Without a doubt, everyone and every organization pays dearly for their errors of omission and commission.

Therefore, you as a business leader might want to know…

  • Who will react without thinking, to changing situations
  • Which people are prone to authority conflicts, and how to positively handle such drive
  • Who will fail to follow through on details
  • Who will avoid situations which call for meeting people, and who will find being with others too irresistible
  • The listening problems of each individual with whom one works
  • Which people are eager for meetings to move quickly, from topic to topic, and which ones are troubled unless every detail is ironed out first
  • How to operationalize Type A tendencies so that strengths can be retained without the associated problems
  • Who will talk too much and be too critical to hear anything others say
  • Who will decide too quickly, and who will have too much anxiety to be decisive.

One of the major plusses of this assessment is that you’ll also begin to gain powerful insights into other people’s tendencies as well as your own, both professionally and personally! You will be able to predict behavior like never before. This level of understanding will greatly enhance your relationships at all levels in all domains.

You’ll also learn the four keys that according to extensive research (over 80,000 people) by the Gallup Organization, make the world’s greatest leaders and managers so effective.

Value — $2,500

IV. The Leadership Power Email

You’ll receive regular emails that take a deep dive into one of the four dimensions of business. Those four dimensions are:

  1. Management
  2. Finance
  3. Marketing
  4. Economics

Every problem in business occurs in one of those dimensions. In addition, the American Management Association teaches there are SIX strategic activities in each of these dimensions. Once you begin to understand this, you can rapidly AND thoroughly target business problems, and begin to solve them efficiently and effectively.

Those activities are:

  • Organizing
  • Prioritizing
  • Analyzing
  • Executing
  • Communicating
  • Anticipating

You will learn disciplined and objective thinking processes that enable you to avoid the three major pitfalls that can prevent you from achieving your goals. Those pitfalls[4] are:

  • The excuse that there never seems to be enough time for proper analysis
  • The lure of what is familiar and comfortable, which usually leads to recycled decisions that do not match new problems very well
  • Emotional excitement that, in the heat of crisis or in the euphoria of success, usually blocks the cool thinking needed to solve problems or to take full advantage of opportunities.

Value — $4,500

V. FREE Books on Leadership

As part of The 300, you’ll receive books for FREE! The leadership team I’ve recruited wrote these texts. This is a great resource you’ll have at your disposal, especially if you’re the kind of business leader who enjoys and benefits from having the written word available.

These publications are leadership manuals and filled with decades of wisdom and insight. I guarantee they will elevate your mastery and expertise of critical leadership skills and abilities.

Value — $100 (information contained = PRICELESS!)

VI. Study of Business Leadership Gurus

Have you ever heard of Warren Bennis? He’s famous for the aphorism, “The manager does things right; the leader does the right thing.” He wrote almost 30 books and is considered a world-renowned expert on leadership. Bennis taught at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Marshall Graduate School of Business for 35 years, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and was the founding chairman of the Leadership Institute at USC’s Marshall School. You’ll study his core ideas and how to put them to use in your business.

And we’ll look at a bunch of others who have great wisdom to share. There are over 35 business gurus we could study, including W. Edwards Deming, Peter Drucker, Ken Blanchard, Gary Hamel, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Peter Senge, and Sun Tzu!

VIII. The QuoteAction Program

Do you enjoy great quotes? I do! Members of The 300 can get a quote emailed each day with an action attached for you to consider. Here are two examples:

  1. “It’s easy to get people’s attention; what counts is getting their interest.” —Civil Rights Activist, Philip Randolph

Your action for today is to discover whether you can capture someone’s interest in addition to his or her attention. (Stimulating someone’s interest is a critical marketing initiative. Does YOUR marketing stimulate curiosity and interest?)

  1. “Learn to say no. It will be of more use to you that to be able to read Latin.” —C.H. Spurgeon, 19th Century Preacher & Author

Your action for today is to reflect on whether you’re tempted to often say ‘yes’ when maybe saying ‘no’ would serve you better.

Value — PRICELESS

IX. The Seven Cultural Forces That Define Americans

You will learn the most powerful cultural forces that drive Americans and how to use them in your organization to drive productivity and profitability. These are so important that you simply can’t afford to NOT know them. These insights will give you enormous leverage in business. Here’s one of the seven…

America is (still) the dream capitol of the world. People’s dreams are engaging, motivating, energizing, and powerful. Are you using this potent strategic tool to full advantage? I’ll show you how.

X. The Most Useful Definition and Explanation of Power

There are actually FIVE components of power. You’ll uncover your own definition of power, and then I’ll teach you a forceful new one.

Income, status, and possessions are manifestations of external rewards and resources, but only ONE component of power. You will expand your understanding of what power really means, how it enables you to control your own life, clearly define your expectations, let go of what you’ve been taught, and gain real power. Then, you’ll be able to use it to your benefit and the benefit of everyone around you who matters.

Value — PRICELESS!

XI. FREE National Issues Forums Issue Booklets

The National Issues Forums publish several major booklets every year and are a tremendous source of some of the most valuable information on today’s major issues. One of the first issues we’ll tackle is immigration!

Here’s what you can expect from this component:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the most important issues of today
  • Distinguish among facts, issues, and values
  • Develop insight and awareness into different points of view
  • Learn the costs and consequences of solutions to dilemmas
  • Get a starting point for citizen action

These forums are incredibly stimulating. I was trained to be a NIF moderator by the University of California San Diego Summer Public Policy Institute, and am very enthused about adding this wonderful opportunity to The 300 program.
